International Politics
2 weeks, from Sunday 29th July - Saturday 11th August 2012
St Antony’s College, Oxford
The International Politics program tackles questions and problems that shape politics in the modern world. Participants will have the opportunity to study in depth the politics of key countries and regions outside of Western Europe and North America, and they will be encouraged to relate their knowledge of these regions to the discussion of broader issues that affect all parts of the globe.

The program consists of:
•A daily lecture program given by leading scholars and distinguished speakers of St Antony’s College.

•Each course has five two-hour meetings per week and classes usually contain no more than 12 participants.Read more....

Creative Writing

Exeter College, Oxford
The Creative Writing Summer Program is a broad based course for intermediate and advanced writers to explore and enhance their ability as a writer.
The program consists of:
•A daily lecture program given by established authors, agents, editors and others.
•Study in small seminars, led by tutors who are both published authors and experienced teachers.
Intermediate writers take two mandatory seminars: ‘Developing as a Creative Writer’ and ‘Learning from the Masters - Critical Reading for Writers’.

Applicants at advanced level choose two seminars from:
•Approaches to Poetry
•Biography and Autobiography
•Fiction
•Learning from the Masters - Critical Reading for Writers
•Teaching Creative Writing
•Young Adult Fiction.
Seminars will involve writing exercises, group discussion, and the development of a portfolio of creative writing.
Each seminar has two two-hour meetings per week and classes usually contain no more than 12 participants. Read more...

A range of optional events including, walking tour of Oxford, after-dinner talks, a book club, open mic nights and weekend excursions to sites of literary and historical interests will be offered throughout the program.

Literature
3 weeks, from Sunday 1st July - Saturday 21st July 2012
Exeter College, Oxford

The program consists of:
•A daily lecture program given by leading scholars and distinguished speakers
•Study in small seminar groups
Undergraduate students take two mandatory courses:
•‘Critical Reading’
•‘Shakespeare on Stage and Screen’
Postgraduate students choose two of the following:
•Chaucer - Sacred and Profane
•Shakespeare - Recent trends on Stage and Screen
•The English Romantic Poets
•Jane Austen
•Victorian Fiction

Each course has two two-hour meetings per week and classes usually contain no more than 12 participants.
A range of optional events including, walking tour of Oxford, after-dinner talks, a book club, a series of political debates and weekend excursions to sites of literary and historical interests will be offered throughout the program.

History, Politics and Society

This program is for people with an interest in history, politics and international relations.
The program consists of:
•A daily lecture program given by leading scholars and distinguished speakers
•Study in small seminar groups
Applicants choose two courses from:
•British Politics 1900-1945
•The Changing Face of Britain
•The Contemporary Middle East
•The European Union in Perspective
•Human Rights - Principles and Practice in the Contemporary World
•International Development - Challenges in a Changing Climate
•Political Economy in a Globalised World
•Warfare in the Modern World.

Each course has two two-hour meetings per week and classes usually contain no more than 12 participants.

International Human Rights Law
This four-week summer school offers participants the opportunity to follow an intensive programme of university-level study in human rights law within the beautiful surroundings of New College, Oxford. The programme was established by the University of Oxford and George Washington University in 1995 and almost 1000 students from all over the world have attended since that time. The 2010 session assembled an internationally recognised faculty offering courses on the practice, history, philosophy and doctrine of international human rights law. The 2012 program information will be available in February 2012.
