For Academics
Overseas studies a must for graduates
An overseas study experience is increasingly becoming a must on a graduate’s resume. A recent study (Attitudes and perceptions of Australian employers towards an overseas experience QETI and IEAA. Sep 2006) showed that over 80% of employers think graduates who’ve studied overseas have enhanced skills that are applicable to the workplace, and that 61% of employers consider an overseas study experience as a unique competitive advantage on a graduate resume.
Many students aren’t in a position, whether because of their degree requirement, their job or their family commitment to undertake a whole semester exchange. We offer them a suitable alternative so they can acquire skills that will be attractive to a future employer. AIM Overseas programs are designed with student outcome in mind.
About AIM Overseas programs
AIM Overseas offers Australian university students an opportunity to undertake overseas academic programs and give an international edge to their qualification. AIM Overseas programs:
•Are taught by a university overseas (with the exception of some language programs)
•In English
•Over 3 or 4 weeks during the Summer and Winter holidays
•Each of our program is equivalent to a full-time semester subject and is designed to be credit bearing if taken as an elective. Programs’ syllabi are available on request.
•Upon successful completion of their program students receive either a transcript or a certificate of attainment from the host institution.
•Funding is available: undergraduate students participating in one of our programs, who receive credit for it, may be eligible to apply for OS-Help. OS-Help is a government loan-scheme whereby students can borrow up to $5500 to help pay for their overseas studies and pay it back later as part of their HECS.
